I am Kathleen Christiano, board certified licensed massage therapist, specializing in injury and pain management. I graduated in 2001 from the Connecticut Center of Massage Therapy. I’m also a member of both AMTA and NCBTMB as well as on the medical staff at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Currently, I work as an active medical massage therapist from my private studio where I have a space dedicated specifically for my client therapy sessions. I am often within the hospital setting, where I help promote my massage therapy profession to better serve the hospital’s medical staff and medical teams as well as serving the community.
I enjoy learning and always look forward to further developing my skills to better help my clients. As a massage therapist, I use a variety of techniques to cater to each individuals needs, including: deep tissue, relaxation, lymphatic drainage, trigger point, light stretching and Reiki.
When I am not at work, I love the peace of the ocean at the beach. I also enjoy gardening and have a love for fitness. In fact, I am a personal trainer and when I am not healing clients with massage therapy, I can be found leading and encouraging clients in my private fitness studio. Another love I have is for great comedy and sitting in the sun enjoying the many different birds that feed at my feeders. My prize in this life is my family. I always say that spending time with my family is time well spent - core memories.
Massage therapy has so many benefits for physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. It offers pain relief from sore muscles, increased flexibility, relaxation, mental clarity, improved circulation, sports recovery and injury prevention.
I became a massage therapist because I have always been very passionate to help others feel better and live a quality life.
